Jean-Jacques Werner

(b. 1935, Frankreich)

Jean-Jacques Werner was born on 20 January 1935 in Straßburg. He studied music at the conservatory where he won first prizes for harp, horn and conducting orchestra in a row. He continued his studies with Pierre Wissmer, Daniel-Lesur and Leon Barzin at the Schola Cantorum in Paris. Parallel to his life as composer he was driven by the desire to publicise contemporary works and started his career as conductor in 1960. Among others he conducted the Radio-Television-Francaise Orchestra, the Orchestre de Chambre, Orchestre Lyrique, the Orchestre Philharmonique and the Orchestre National. He records for the international radio broadcast exchange office.
